This workshop is an introduction to darning, the sewing technique of repairing holes in cloth with needle and thread alone. The intention is usually to make the mend blend into the cloth, but with a visible mending approach we use color to celebrate the life and wear of the garment.
We'll work on a fabric sample in class to learn the technique, and everyone will go home with a basic mending kit (embroidery hoop, needle, and a few bobbins of yarn). Bring any garments that you want to mend and we can look at them together towards the end of class. All materials provided, no experience necessary!

Max capacity of 12. Two no-cost scholarship spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Just email me at [email protected] requesting a scholarship spot.
